2011 is Half Over!

At a recent meeting about personal branding, the subject of blogs was brought up. Feelings about them ranged from "fun to read" to "what a waste of time." Interestingly, the most popular question was "Who has time to do this?"
It made me realize, since my "I'm 50, Now What?" blog, I've been woefully inconsistent here, with the exception of the poetry challenge each April. It also made me think of what a fellow writer said about finding time to "write that novel." She said, the things you really want to do, you find the time for. The rest, you just complain you don't have the time for it.
Seems I need to make some more time for:
Writing.
Exercising.
Gardening.
Laughing.
Blogging.
Because, 2011 is already half over.

Gee Noreen,

Not only is 2011 half over~ well, more than half, but isn't our lives too?

Remember me?

We used to believe in UFO's.. we used to play Barbies and we both loved reading and imagining.

We used to go swimming in your pool on Merrill Ave, I'll never forget the fun.

You told your lovely little sisters you were from another planet.. or some such thing.. LOL. I remember~ do you?

Guess who?

Ok, the pool is gone from Merrill Ave, but the Barbies are still here...and as far as UFOs, well the jury is still out...

Ya know, I wondered where my Barbies went. One was a blond bubble cut, one was a brunette ponytail, there was a blonde Francie, and blonde Skipper.. among others. Clothes, too.

Since the advent of Facebook, I recently began doing a search of old friends. I thought of you, typed in your name and found you!

I think we were around age 12 or so when we were friends, maybe younger?

I remember your Mom, a lovely person. And your two sisters were so adorable. I remember your Basset hound, too.

My parents are still living in the same house. I'm married and living in western PA now. I'd love to re-connect! If you would too, here's an e mail you can contact me at:

Your old pal,
Margie
